Commonly asked questions and other useful information....

Should I meet with my wedding photographer before the wedding?

Absolutely!  I offer a free consultation as part of every wedding package and expect to meet with every bride before you sign the contract.  This helps you get to learn about me, review  my work and products so you know what to expect.  It's also helpful so that I get an idea of what you're looking for, what to expect the day of, and whether or not I can best meet your needs for your special day.

I currently work on my own, so you will meet with me, the photographer who will come on your wedding day.

I prefer to meet with my customers at a mutually convenient location and will bring with me photo an album samples.

What type of equipment to you use?

I shoot with Nikon digital SLR cameras and equipment.  I always carry at least two cameras to every event in to cover for any emergencies. I carry multiple lenses, flashes, batteries, etc and more flash cards that I could ever go through in an entire wedding.  I carry a portable hard drive to back up all your photos as I shoot.

How will I get my photos after the wedding?

Following your wedding, I will post all of your photos in an online gallery.  This takes about 2 to 3 weeks after your wedding.  You and your family will have the opportunity to view your photos here.  You have the option of color or black and white prints as part of your wedding package.  I send all prints and the DVD via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.  I will also provide you with a voucher code for the enlargements that come with your wedding package.  These prints can be ordered directly from your wedding gallery.

Photos will not be posted for viewing or mailed unless all payments have been received and cleared.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, and it's free with a signed contract for your wedding.  Still undecided about your wedding photographer, but want an engagement session asap?  Please refer to my portrait information page for pricing.

and a few other suggestions for your wedding day....

Plan a time slot for your portraits.  You may opt for time before the wedding for the bride, her attendants and family members.  This should be scheduled after the bride is completely ready, but before the ceremony.  Plan for 30 minutes.

After the ceremony and before the reception is the best time for wedding part, family, and the bride & groom portraits.  Some of these can be done at the church.  Plan for 30 minutes for these photos, which will include any family members, the entire bridal party and the bride and groom.  Be sure to notify your officiant and limo driver

I also like to get bridal portraits at a nice location with just the bride and groom.  After we leave the ceremony, we can head out to a location or your choice to spend about 30 minutes.  With out your entire family and bridal party, these photos are more natural and relaxed.  The less people around distracting you and asking you to look at their camera, the smoother things will go.

Plan to have a wedding schedule for all important people to hand out before your big day.  Make sure your wedding party knows where they should be after the wedding party.  If you want your great aunt hilda to be a part of portraits, let her know so she's at the right place at the right time....i don't know who she is!

To save some money...you don't need a photographer for your entire reception.  The average reception is 4 to 5 hours.  Talk to your DJ and reception coordinator about the time line for the reception.  Are you planning a bouquet toss? Garter Toss? Special dances??  Find out when during the evening these things will happen.  If they're all within the first three hours of the reception...do you want to pay a photographer for the remaining time?

What if we decide we want more time?

At any time up until your final balance is due (ten days prior to the wedding), you can extend your package to the next level.  If you decide at the rehearsal, or even once my time is up at the end of the evening, you can extend your time at a rate of $75 for every 30 minutes.  This amount is due in cash on the day of your wedding.
